Rain water flooding transforms the parched outback landscape, heralding a renewal of life that flows across its reaches.
Just add water explores a natural Australian phenomenon of flooding after heavy rains. How much is aggravated by climate change?

SUNDAY MARKETS
Acrylic on Canvas
Height: 75cm Width 95cm Depth: 3cm
Something of an Australian ritual 'going to the local markets' is a common open air weekend event. The South Bank markets presented the opportunity to capture a snippet of the activity.
My approach was to capture the essence of the market festivity, simplifying the scene with a juxtaposition of coloured geometric patches of primary colour.

ON THE BEACH
Acrylic on canvas
Height: 75cm Width 95cm Depth: 3cm
An iconic image of the Australian beach and coastal way of life in the summer months. Beach goers dotted like ants along the shoreline. I wanted to capture the essence of being 'on the beach'. This image sits on my computer desktop to remind me of the summer months ahead.

When asked by an interior designer 'do you paint cows?'. My reply, 'Yes I have painted many a cow or two popped into a traditional landscape'.
The final reality was a second work in reference to Pop Art on a highly textured bright background.

LITTLE WHITE BULL
Mixed media on timber plywood
Height: 125cm Width 150cm Depth: 3cm
Preceding the 'Little Black Bull', I rescued a ply panel painting with a sombre background of mixed media and collage to create the 'Little White Bull'. A childlike reference to my lovely Murray Grey cattle that I bred on my farm.
